As a mechanical processing practitioner, the CNC tool vise is one of the indispensable tools in our daily work. It plays an important role in the clamping, processing and assembly of parts.
The jaw body is usually made of high-strength cast iron or steel. It not only provides a mounting base for other components, but also bears the clamping force and various stresses during processing.
The fixed jaws and movable jaws are used to clamp the workpiece. The fixed jaws are installed on one side of the jaw body, while the movable jaws are connected to the jaw body through a screw. The movable jaw can move along the guide rail of the jaw body driven by the screw to achieve clamping or loosening of the workpiece.
The screw is installed inside the jaw body, one end is connected to the movable jaw, and the other end extends out of the jaw body to form a handle. By rotating the handle, the screw drives the movable jaw to move to achieve the action of clamping or loosening.
The guide rail is the track on which the movable jaw moves, usually located on the side of the jaw body. The accuracy and surface quality of the guide rail directly affect the moving stability and clamping accuracy of the movable jaw.
The base is the supporting part of the vise, usually designed to be rotatable, so that the operator can adjust the direction of the workpiece as needed.
After each use, wipe the vice body, jaws, screw and guide rails with a clean cloth to remove iron filings, dust and oil residues left during processing. Especially the jaws, if there are iron filings left, it may scratch the surface of the workpiece when clamping the workpiece next time.
Keeping the vise lubricated is the key to extending its service life. Apply an appropriate amount of lubricating oil to the screw and guide rails regularly. Lubricating oil can not only reduce friction between parts, but also prevent rust.
Regularly check the fit of the screw and nut. If the screw is found to rotate unsmoothly or there are signs of looseness, adjust or replace the nut in time. The fit accuracy of the screw and nut directly affects the clamping force and operational flexibility of the vise, so it cannot be ignored.
The stability of the base is crucial to the use effect of the vise. If the mounting bolts of the base are found to be loose, tighten them in time. At the same time, check whether the rotation function of the base is normal. If the rotation is not smooth, clean the dust and debris inside the base and apply lubricating oil where necessary.
The machine vise is a very important tool in CNC machine tool processing. Its basic structure is simple but powerful, so we will carefully maintain and use it. I hope our experience and skills can be helpful.
